Welcome to the Tourism Council of Carroll County Maryland!
As President of the Tourism Council, I welcome you to our beautiful county. Carroll County is truly diverse, full of modern day amenities yet steeped in a rich history reflected in its towns, villages, and neighborhoods. Enjoy the pastoral scenes of our family farms, explore our parks, travel our Civil War, horse and bike trails, play golf on one of our challenging courses or fish in a local stream. Save time for visiting a farmer’s market or fireman’s carnival, shopping at quaint and unique stores or modern malls, strolling through art galleries and antique shops or walking leisurely along one of our towns’ quaint main streets.
There are a variety of festivals throughout the year. Civil War reenactments, theatrical performances, concerts in the park and arts & crafts shows. Dining around Carroll County is truly an experience in itself with a variety of restaurants, bull and oyster roasts, or pancake breakfasts. For your overnight stay, we offer quality hotels and charming bed and breakfasts.

Discover all the treasures that Carroll County offers. Take your time to ensure your visit is a memorable one. But, be assured – one visit will not be enough!

What is the Council's Mission?

The Tourism Council's primary mission is to promote Carroll County as a travel destination, in full partnership with the Carroll County Office of Tourism. This includes press releases, radio and TV spots, newspaper articles and paid advertisements.

How Does the Promotion of Carroll County Benefit Me?
In attracting tourists to our area, the Tourism Council helps bring revenue to our county. The result is a healthier local economy for all of us to enjoy. According to the Maryland Office of Tourism, the tourism industry generates approximately $57 million each year in Carroll County. This makes tourism a leading industry in Carroll County. Membership in the Tourism Council provides you with the programs and services you need to reach this significant consumer market. All this for membership dues of only $50 per year.

Why a Tourism Council?
Some years ago, a group of local business people came together in an effort to assist the Carroll County Office of Tourism with the promotion of our county. This group has since become incorporated and now sees a need to include more businesses in this endeavor. Through a united effort, the tourism industry can grow in Carroll County, exposing more businesses to the opportunities of working with visitors.
